You will get it by Berton Braley

You will get it by Berton Braley

If you want a thing bad enough
to go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and your sleep for it

If only you desire of it
Makes you quite mad enough
Never to tired of it,
Makes you hold all other things tawdry and cheap for it

If life seems all empty and useless without it
And all that you scheme and dream is about it,

If gladly you'll sweat for it,
Fret for it,
Plan for it,
Lose all your terror of God and man for it,

If you'll simply go after that thing that you want,
With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity,
Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,

If neither cold poverty, famished or gaunt,
Nor sickness nor pain
Of body or brain
Can turn you away from the thing that you want

If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,
You'll get it!

Just think by Robert W. Service

Just think by Robert W. Service

Just think! some night the stars will gleam
   Upon a cold, grey stone,
And trace a name with silver beam,
And lo! ’twill be your own.

That night is speeding on to greet
   Your epitaphic rhyme.
Your life is but a little beat
   Within the heart of Time.

A little gain, a little pain,
   A laugh, lest you may moan;
A little blame, a little fame,
   A star-gleam on a stone.

A Bend In The Road By Hellen Steiner Rice

A Bend In The Road By Hellen Steiner Rice

When we feel we have nothing left to give
and we are sure that the song has ended
When our day seems over and the shadows fall
and the darkness of night has descended
Where can we go to find the strength
to valiantly keep on trying
Where can we find the hand that will dry
the tears that the heart is crying

There’s but one place to go and that is to God
and dropping all pretense and pride
We can pour out our problems without restraint
and gain strength with Him at our side
And together we stand at life’s crossroads
and view what we think is the end

But God has a much bigger vision
and He tells us it’s only a bend
For the road goes on and is smoother
and the pause in the song is a rest
And the part that’s unsung and unfinished
is the sweetest and richest and best

So rest and relax and grow stronger
let go and let God share your load
Your work is not finished or ended
you’ve just come to a bend in the road
